Cultural Immersion Weekend
Koori Kulcha presents a diverse array of engaging and interactive programs, notably including our Kids Cultural Immersion Camps. These camps, targeted at youngsters aged 10 to 18, provide a distinctive chance to delve into and experience the rich Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture through dynamic and entertaining activities. Set in the picturesque surroundings of Bowral, New South Wales, just an hour and 20 minutes from Sydney’s bustling center, the camps span two days and are scheduled throughout the year.
Participants will be immersed in a range of activities, including:
- Exploring Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander languages, stories, and traditions
- Engaging in traditional arts and crafts
- Enjoying indigenous games
- Discovering traditional herbs, fruits, and spices
- Preparing and tasting traditional cuisine
- Interacting with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Elders to gain a direct understanding of their cultural heritage
These camps offer a vibrant platform for children to not only learn about and respect the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures but also to forge new friendships and acquire new skills in a supportive and interactive environment. Beyond the kids’ camps, we extend our offerings to include family Camps and Corporate Camps, catering to a wider audience interested in cultural immersion and learning.
